Survival Tour

Tour starts with morning pick-up in Coca, either from the airport or a hotel if you arrived the day before. Then, we will drive for about an hour and a half to the Tiputini Riverport. Here is where one can start to appreciate the spectacular beauty of the rainforest.

We will board a large covered motorized canoe for a 70-minute journey.

Along the way, we will pass a few houses from the kichwa and Waorani communities. We will see the Spectacled Owl, the Anhinga, and some Blue Morpho butterflies if we are lucky while zig-zagging along the river.

After we arrive at the lodge, we will have lunch. Then, we will have a short canoe ride for sighting and a small hike to reconize the setting.

Just before sunset is a great time to see animal activity. At candlelight, we will enjoy our dinner.

After a hearty Amazonian breakfast at the lodge, we’ll gather and double-check all our survival gear to ensure everything is in order for the journey ahead. Before entering the deep jungle, we’ll visit a local Kichwa “chacra” — a traditional family farm — where we’ll harvest fresh, native ingredients like bananas, manioc (yuca), and other local staples. This hands-on experience connects you with the land and the people who live from it.

Back at the lodge, a nourishing lunch will be served to fuel the start of your adventure. Afterward, we’ll board the wooded canoe and begin our journey down the river, deep into the heart of Yasuní National Park. Your Amazon survival experience officially begins.

Your Kichwa and Waorani guides will teach you how to:

Navigate without GPS

Identify edible and medicinal plants

Build jungle shelters from natural materials

Start fires, filter water, and stay safe in the wild.

After breakfast, we will continue down the Tiputini River where you will find a new spot to camp.

With the group now equipped with the basics, it’s your turn to lead. Divided into small teams, you’ll be responsible for navigating, setting up camp, and applying what you’ve learned — with your guides nearby for safety and support.

After breakfast, a motorized canoe will pick us up for the return journey to the lodge. Sit back and relax as we travel upriver, enjoying the sights and sounds of the rainforest from the comfort of the boat.

Upon arrival, you’ll be welcomed with a refreshing drink and a well-earned Amazonian lunch. The afternoon is yours to unwind — stretch out in a hammock, sip a cool drink, and soak in the serenity of the jungle.

At 7:00 p.m., we’ll gather for a special farewell dinner to celebrate the experience and share stories from the adventure.
