From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with warm hospitality and a true sense of adventure. Nestled deep in the pristine Ecuadorian Amazon, this eco-lodge offers a completely immersive experience in nature. The guides were exceptional—knowledgeable, passionate, and eager to share their expertise about the rainforest’s wildlife, plants, and indigenous culture. Every day was filled with breathtaking activities: canoeing through serene waterways, spotting exotic birds and monkeys, and even a thrilling night walk to see the jungle come alive after dark. The accommodations are comfortable yet rustic, perfectly blending with the environment. The food was delicious, fresh, and locally sourced, making every meal a treat. What really stood out was the lodge’s commitment to sustainability and working closely with the local community, making this an authentic and responsible travel experience. If you're looking for a true off-the-grid Amazon adventure with genuine local connections and unforgettable wildlife encounters, Mandari Panga is the place to be. Highly recommend! We had an amazing experience staying at this jungle lodge during our two-week trip from mid of October to mid of November, during dry season! The staff was incredibly friendly, and they went above and beyond to meet all our needs. The place was very clean, and the atmosphere was welcoming and relaxing. Our "room" had its own private bathroom with running water, and it was cleaned daily. The lodge is set in a stunning location with a huge variety of wildlife - sometimes also at the camp itself -, making it perfect for nature lovers. A special shout-out to our guide, Ramiro, who was incredibly knowledgeable and made our experience even more unforgettable! Wifi was available daily during meal times, which was super convenient. The food was amazing, and they really took care to fulfill any special dietary requests. We also really appreciated the community project they’re running – it’s inspiring to see the positive impact they’re making and we are happy to take part. We can’t recommend this place enough! My best friend and I dreamed of seeing the Amazon rainforest since we were kids, and the Mandari Panga’s “Yasuni Jungle Explorer” tour exceeded our wildest hopes! During our 7 day tour into the Yasuni national park, we stayed in a luxurious jungle lodge along the Tiputini River, ate 3 gourmet meals a day, and travelled through the Amazon rainforest like kings. This unexpected but marvellous comfort gave us the rest and strength we needed to fully take in all of the wondrous activities that the tour included. We would usually undertake one 3-4 hour activity in the morning, another in the afternoon after lunch, and often one final evening activity, such as exciting night hikes to see many of the Amazon’s nocturnal species. During our breathtaking week with Mandari Panga, we hiked through thick forest trails while our wonderful guide Ramiro (nickname: Puma) pointed out all of the beautiful species of plants, birds, insects, monkeys, and even wild pigs that we surely would have missed on our own. We kayaked down the Tiputini river at sunset, camped under giant palm leaves in the forest just up from the river’s shore, caught our own piranha and catfish which we then ate for dinner, and used a traditional dugout canoe to explore an anaconda lagoon. Our guide Ramiro tailored our whole tour to meet our needs and desires. For instance, he patiently waited for half an hour while we meditated under a giant Kapok tree during one of our hikes. Above all, he was beyond generous with his extensive knowledge of the Amazon rainforest and the Quichua people who live there. He himself is Quichua and was taught how to live with the jungle since he was a small child. He showed us all of the traditional uses of many of the forest’s plants and mushrooms. If all of these wonderful and unique offerings are not enough reason for you to choose Mandari Panga, then we highly recommend you do so to support their extensive preservation efforts. They are highly committed to saving and protecting the Amazon rainforest. Much of the money you spend to receive this unparalleled tour goes towards preserving and re-wilding the rainforest and supporting the indigenous people who live there - the Mandari Panga community for whom the company is named. While these tours may be more expensive than others, they are worth every penny. We will remember and cherish this experience for the rest of our lives, and we are forever changed by it. Special thanks to our guide Ramiro, our gourmet chef Eric, our expert navigator and canoe captain Milton, and our diligent helper Abdon. It was a pure joy to spend a week deep in the wild Amazon with each and every one of them! Przemyslaw K2024-01-25Verified Great experience! Overall great experience. We did kayak tour however all activities were adjusted on daily basis to our needs. So we did walks, kayak, boat rides, visit parrot clay lick, pirania fishing. Our guide was Ramiro - very knowledgeable and at the same - fun guy. Would definitely recommend him. The camp itself is a real jungle experience, set in beautiful and peaceful place. So you can hear and feel the jungle all the time. Food is amazing given that you’re > 1h of motor boat ride from nearest road. Staff very kind and friendly. And last but not least it is run by local community who really cares about environment. I can only recommend it for visiting Yasuní National Park. loutcho l2023-12-19Verified The eco-lodge we need Mandari Panga is a very special eco-lodge. To keep a place like this in the Amazonian forest, with such high standards, it requires a lot of work, a lot of people, a great will and strong values. I highly recommand this place, and to meet the people here. Please take the time to discuss with Freddy, Cathy or Ramiro, their goal is beautiful and we must support them as much as possible. Enjoy the forest, explore, discover, learn, and you will live an amazing and memorable experience. Jeff F2023-12-04Verified Awesome place just go! The entire complex is beautiful and so well run. You can totally disconnect and just take in what an amazing part of the world you are in. Our guide Puma was very attentive and adapted the tours to our interests. The food is great and the staff are very friendly. The location is amazing as well the amount of butterflies and birds that you wake up to are overwhelming and the monkeys that our guides were able to spot were so much fun to watch. We even found the anaconda I was hoping to see. Definitely a great place to spend your vacation. wells c2023-12-03Verified I want to return! This was an incredible trip. Abraham and Danny were excellent, knowledgable and professional guides. I felt so well taken care of. Everyone is incredibly kind. The lodging was very comfortable. The food was yummy. I loved the soups and juices that were part of the meals. The nature was beautiful and restorative. I have already recommended the adventure experience to several friends and I want to return with students. Sharon K2023-09-11Verified Incredible once in a lifetime Amazone experience with Mandari Panga This lodge is special. The experience immerses you into the most biodiverse part of the Amazon, the Yasuni, like no other. We booked the Adventure Experience which consisted of 7 nights, two of which were camping on sandbanks along the Tiputini river. During the entire 7 day trip we did not see any other boats except a few from the Mandari Panga community, making this trip feel epic and adventurous like no other. The most important part of this project is the Mandari Panga community who have decided to use their reserve for tourism rather than the lucrative oil exploration in other reserves in the Yasuni. They are fascinated by the local animals and plants, teaching you constantly. The lodge itself has been built by the community using locally sourced materials. The luxurious nature of the private lodges are first class; the lodges are facing either the Tiputini river or a tributary with spectacular views. It must be noted that this is deep in the Amazon and guests must be prepared/experienced with insects and mud on animal watching walks. Highlights included: Animals (even though dry season makes viewing animals more difficult): - Two jaguars wondering around our camp. - Giant river otters - Pink dolphin - Anaconda - Countless other mammals and rare birds. Experiences: - Swimming in the Tiputini river. - Catching and eating our own fish, including piranha. - Kayaking black water lakes and the river. - Incredible local food served by the Mandari Panga chef and kitchen staff. - Forest fruits identified by the local Kichwa guide for picking and consuming along forest walks. - Learning about Kichwa culture and the Mandari Panga community. If you are outdoorsy and you are seeking an adventure then this is definitely for you. We had a wonderful time that we will talk about for many more years. Despite the price being higher compared to the more touristy Cuyabeno Amazon experiences, this Yasuni trip is the real deal and worth every extra dollar. A big thank you to our guide, Ramiro, whose knowledge and passion for the Yasuni added extra magic to a 10/10 trip. We had so many laughs along the way and he was there to make sure our experience was as unique as possible 24 hours a day, always with the biggest smile. All in all a trip of a lifetime! Benjamin B2023-08-11Verified Great experience The Lodge is beautifully located as the only lodge at the tiputini river. We did the kayak tour which was a very good way to see a lot of wildlife, get dome adventure and enjoy the calm mornings and evenings on the river. The guides are members of the community with immense knowledge, bilingual and extremely friendly. Freddy the manager helped us a lot with organising a private taxi from/to quito. The food is excellent and the huts got everyzhing u need. Its the perfect mix between authenticy, adventure and luxury. Mafalda L2023-08-05Verified Mandari Panga - A magical Place. As part of our World Challenge to Ecuador, we stayed at Mandari Panga and our experience was amazing. The facilities, food and hospitality are 5 stars. Freddie, Javier and Daniel are very knowledgeable and they organised many activities for us. A hike and boat trip at night, coffee and chocolate making as well as canoeing. I'd highly recommend Mandari Panga! It is just magical. Karina - Mafalda Language & Culture | Tuition
